A wheelchair is a chair that helps a person with a disability move around without pain. Wheelchairs are specially created for people with disabilities. It is a device that electronically or manually helps them get around safely.
The first known wheelchair was made during the year of 1783 for Phillip II of Spain by an unknown inventor. From then till now many wheelchairs have been created. In total nine different wheelchairs have been created and we are sure there are more to come, unless we run out of non-renewable resources. There are transport wheelchairs, standard manual wheelchairs, lightweight manual wheelchairs, custom made wheelchairs, sport wheelchairs, tilt wheelchairs, paediatric wheelchairs and shower commode wheelchairs. Each of these wheelchairs have saved one person's life and happiness.
